This is Charlie. He was brought into a Redding shelter as a stray. The shelter folks thought this 85-pound sweet boy with his puppyish good looks was 8, but the vet thinks he's more like 13. Charlie has a heart of gold. He is calm, very good with children and other dogs, and showed no interest to the cats at the shelter.  He is completely house trained, sleeps contently through the night on his dog bed, and does not bark. He is the kind of fellow that loves to be with his people, but does not need to be directly underfoot. The one thing Charlie does need is a one story home. He has hip dysplasia and some neurologic deficit making his back legs wobbly. He has no problems whatsoever walking (and trotting) when the ground is flat or gently sloping, but he cannot manage stairs or steep hillsides. He is happy and the vet does not think he is in pain. Charlie enjoys his half mile neighborhood walks with his foster brother and sister, and is always ready to hop in the car for a ride!
