We're so happy to let you know that Max has been adopted!
Max is a sweet, overweight (13 pounds) bewildered little guy who would like nothing better than for his life to get back to normal again, so he can spend some quality time sitting in a caring person's lap--his all-time favorite 'activity'. His guardian developed dementia and has gone to a long-term care facility. Max temporarily went to a boarding facility and it was VERY stressful for him to be in a cage with no one he knew around him. We almost didn't rescue him because it appeared that he might be a biter--but it turned out he was just REALLY scared. In a foster home setting, he is happy and friendly; he has done well around other dogs at an adoption event. He is a little bit leery of some men, but it doesn't seem to be anything major; he may not be OK with really small children. He is somewhere between 5 and 10 years old, is heartworm negative, and on prevention. He is probably housetrained, but due to his owner's dementia, may not have been able to practice his training consistently. He rides well in a car. Because he needs to lose a few pounds, he is currently on a diet, and should be exercised regularly. We think this great little guy has lots of good years left as a loving, faithful companion--please give him the opportunity to show you just how sweet he is.
