Sam was found wandering the woods about three years ago, and was almost feral. Since then, he’s become quite the family cat.
In the summer he’s out most of the time, usually sleeping somewhere sunny, although he checks his “territory” a few times a day. From about October or November, depending on the weather, he pretty much sleeps. See the sleep pics. They were taken since the fall. If there’s a fireplace anywhere near, Sam’s there. Or in an easy chair, or sitting next to someone warm. He’s a very affectionate cat.
Although he’s become quite domesticated, he still gets afraid from time to time, but gets over it quite well. For a long time he would run from visitors to the house, but now he hangs around and asks for pets. It might take a while for him to adjust to a new home, but no doubt with patience and caring, he will. He’s learned that people mean pets, and that’s not a bad thing. As far as being a mouser, he’s a bit of a disappointment. Apparently he’s just not that ambitious. Sam’s been known to watch a mouse run across the floor, and literally yawn. Guess he’s relying on his good looks.
