Sweety
On March 21, 2012, Sweety passed away in her foster home, probably as the result of a heart attack. She got to spend the last months of her life in comfort, surrounded by love, with excellent veterinary care. Thank you to David, her foster dad, and the rest of his canine family, for all they brought to Sweety's life.

Buffy
Buffy's owner passed away right at Christmas, 2011. He was the only family Buffy had ever had, and she was sad and scared without him. Although her advanced age and poor health were surely a factor, it seemed almost as if she died of a broken heart.

Gigi (or Blondie)
Gigi was one of our 'Chain Gang' rescue dogs. She was so shy and frightened that when we first saw her, she just cowered on the ground, too afraid to even stand up or be petted. She gained some confidence at her foster home in Hat Creek, and then hit the jackpot when Kerry and Kristie adopted her in February of 2010. Although her time with them was much too short, she was loved and pampered throughout those months. Her passing leaves empty spots in many hearts.
