Sadie
Little Sadie was found as a stray, with existing injuries that kept her from getting around very well. Nevertheless, her sweet, loving, yet independent nature was evident from the start. Sadly, her injuries did not heal--in fact, they multiplied and got worse. She hated being cooped up--but now we know she's running free, all that pain is a thing of the past. Thanks to Paulette for all the love she shared with this sweet little dog.
Callie
Callie was found running in a pack - she was almost a year old as judged by the vet who examined her.
Margie had her for 11 1/2 yrs.
Callie was called "My Baby Goat" because she seemed to graze on grass, looking like a goat
She was Margie's best friend and best roommate, she was always excited to see Margie come home and followed her everywhere, not letting her out of her sight
Margie sings beautifully, and Callie was always a rapt audience for her songs.
Trigger
Trigger came to SNIPPP from a person who didn't even bother to look for him when he went missing one time--when we contacted him to let him know we'd found Trigger, he said he didn't want him back and 'that dog' would be better off dead than anything else. Fortunately for Trigger, a very kind and understanding foster mom, Susan, said he could come to be part of her family of people, cats, and dogs, for as long as he needed to. Little Trigger probably has the happiest 2+ years of his life with Susan. Today 10/21/2011, Trigger succumbed to widespread, inoperable cancer. RIP Trigger, and thank you SO MUCH, Susan. There really do seem to be angels in our midst.
Toes (Lady)
Toes was one of the "Chain Gang". She spent her life chained to a tree, until we were able to rescue her. As with the other dogs, she was heartworm positive, but she was also in heart failure. Because of this, she wasn't a candidate for the heartworm treatment. She found a terrific hospice home with Michael, and lived as a pampered pet for 6 weeks, before passing away. SNIPPP is grateful to him for all he did for her, letting Toes (who was re-named Lady) experience love before she died.
Dusty, later called 'Nick'
It seemed that nobody wanted to adopt Dusty. He had a spleen tumor and not too long to live. Cathy and Joe Comrack took him in, named him Nick, and gave him a place in their family of dogs and cats. In September of 2010, Nick died of cancer, but thanks to Joe and Cathy, he spent his last months happily, in a loving home where he was cherished as a special guy. The Comracks continue to share their love by taking in animals in need.
